Information on the disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment, batteries and packaging

Waste electrical and electronic equipment, batteries, rechargeable batteries and packaging contain valuable raw materials, but may also contain substances that are harmful to the environment or human health.
Please therefore observe the following information on return and proper disposal.

1. Disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

Waste electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of with household waste

The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol means that electrical and electronic equipment must not be disposed of with household waste at the end of its service life.

Waste electrical and electronic equipment must be collected separately and taken to a suitable collection or return point.
This allows valuable raw materials to be recovered and potentially harmful substances to be treated properly.

Remove batteries, rechargeable batteries and lamps

Batteries, rechargeable batteries and lamps that can be removed from the waste equipment without causing damage must be removed before the equipment is returned and disposed of separately.

Permanently installed rechargeable batteries or components must not be removed by force. Doing so may cause damage, short circuits or fires.

Delete personal data

The end user is responsible for deleting personal data stored on the waste equipment.
Before returning the equipment, please remove or delete access data, user accounts, Wi-Fi data and any other personal information.

Return of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

Return when purchasing a new appliance

When purchasing a new electrical or electronic appliance, you may return an old appliance of the same type that essentially performs the same functions free of charge.

When certain larger appliances are delivered to a private household, a corresponding old appliance may be collected free of charge.
This applies in particular to:

• Temperature exchange equipment
• Screens and monitors with a screen surface area of more than 100 cm²
• Large appliances with at least one external dimension exceeding 50 cm

Please inform us of your intention to return an old appliance during the ordering process by using the designated selection option.

For other electrical appliances, we provide a legally compliant and free return option.

Return of small waste appliances without purchasing a new appliance

Irrespective of whether you purchase a new appliance, you may return up to three waste electrical or electronic appliances per appliance type free of charge, provided that no external dimension of the respective appliance exceeds 25 cm.

Return procedure

Please do not send waste electrical or electronic equipment back to us without prior notice.
First contact our customer service team and provide us with the type, dimensions and condition of the waste appliance as well as your order or invoice number, where applicable.
We will then inform you about the appropriate return or collection option.

Damaged, leaking or otherwise hazardous waste appliances must not be shipped without prior consultation.
This applies in particular to appliances containing damaged or swollen lithium batteries.

Other return points

Waste electrical and electronic equipment may also be returned free of charge to municipal recycling centres and other legally obligated collection points.

2. Disposal of Batteries and Rechargeable Batteries

Waste batteries must not be disposed of with household waste

Batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. End users are required to collect waste batteries separately and take them to a suitable collection point.

Free return

Waste batteries can be returned free of charge to municipal collection points, recycling centres and designated retail collection points.

We accept waste batteries belonging to the categories of batteries that we currently sell or have previously sold as new batteries.
Returns are accepted irrespective of the brand, origin or original seller.
The return of waste portable batteries is limited to quantities customary for private households.

Complete electrical appliances containing built-in batteries or rechargeable batteries must be disposed of as waste electrical and electronic equipment.

Do not send batteries without prior notice!

Please do not send batteries or rechargeable batteries to us by post or parcel service without prior consultation.
This applies in particular to damaged, leaking, deformed or swollen batteries and rechargeable batteries.
The shipment may be subject to dangerous goods regulations.

Safety information

Please observe the following precautions when handling waste batteries:

• Protect batteries from heat, moisture and damage
• Avoid short circuits
• Cover exposed terminals of lithium-containing batteries with insulating tape
• Do not open or dismantle batteries
• Do not continue to use or charge damaged or swollen rechargeable batteries
• Take damaged batteries to a suitable hazardous waste collection point
• Keep batteries out of the reach of children

Lithium-containing batteries and rechargeable batteries may pose a significant fire risk if damaged or short-circuited.

Meaning of the battery symbols

The crossed-out wheeled bin symbol indicates that batteries must be disposed of separately from household waste. 
The following chemical symbols may appear below the symbol:

Cd – Cadmium
Pb – Lead
Hg – Mercury, particularly on older batteries

These symbols indicate that the battery contains the respective substance above the applicable threshold values or was marked accordingly under previous regulations.

Environmental contribution

The legally required costs of collection, transport, treatment and information are displayed in accordance with the applicable legal requirements when new batteries are sold.

3. Disposal of Packaging

Collect packaging separately

After use, packaging should be reused wherever possible or collected separately and recycled.
Where possible, please separate the individual packaging components and place them in the appropriate local collection systems:

• Paper, cardboard and cartons in the waste paper collection
• Plastic, metal and composite packaging in the yellow recycling bin, yellow recycling bag or local recycling system
• Container glass, separated by colour, in the appropriate bottle banks
• Wood and other materials in accordance with local regulations

The specific disposal routes may vary from region to region.
Please observe the requirements of your city, municipality or responsible waste management authority.

Registration and participation in a recycling system

Mi-Heat Heizsysteme GmbH is registered in the LUCID Packaging Register maintained by the German Central Agency Packaging Register.

Our sales, grouped and shipping packaging that is subject to mandatory system participation is registered with an approved dual recycling system.

Return of other packaging

Transport packaging and other packaging that is not subject to mandatory system participation may be returned where a statutory return obligation applies.
Returns are limited to completely emptied packaging of the same type, form and size as the packaging supplied by us, as well as packaging from goods that we carry in our product range.
Please coordinate the return procedure in advance with our customer service team. Returned packaging will be reused or properly recycled.
