17/5 Carbon fibre heating mat 130W/m²
The innovative manufacturing technology of our high-quality 17/5 carbon fibre heating mats combines all the advantages of modern electric thin-bed heating systems in one product. This makes your electric underfloor heating under tiled floors or in levelling compounds even more comfortable and efficient. The ideal solution for electric underfloor heating in small rooms.
The flat heating cable, already familiar from our 17/5 Black and Gold heating mats, with an installation height of just 2 mm (4 mm at the loops) and a width of 17 mm, has been further improved. In addition to the already significantly larger surface area and consequently optimised heat distribution compared to other heating systems with a round heating cable, the conventional copper conductor has now been replaced by a carbon fibre heating wire. This ensures faster heat development, as our test results clearly show.
Our 17/5 carbon fibre heating mat was able to cope with a temperature rise from 20° C to 50° C in just 5 minutes and 38 seconds. In contrast, a comparable thin-bed heating mat with a round copper heating cable took 12 minutes and 23 seconds under the same operating conditions. The significantly faster heat output therefore enables more than 40% savings in the electrical energy required.
The carbon fibre heating conductor of our 17/5 heating mat is protected by a robust polyimide sheath. This has very high thermal conductivity, resistance to chemical agents and fire resistance. The glass fibre mesh facilitates installation, provides stabilisation and has a crack-breaking effect. The IPX7 certification against the ingress of moisture or water, as well as an integrated protective conductor inside the heating mat, also allows the electric underfloor heating to be operated in damp Rooms.
