Our fleece-laminated Mi-Heat low-voltage heating films are among the thinnest types of electric heating systems and are specially designed for use as floor, wall or ceiling heating. They can be used equally well in new buildings or in renovations and refurbishments. Manufactured in Germany, these heating films are suitable for use as primary or supplementary heating and are also used successfully in many industrial projects.
The special feature of these heating films is the fleece lamination in combination with a closed surface without perforation (holes). This results in a very uniform, robust design that allows for versatile processing. For example, the heating films can be laid universally as electric surface heating under tiles, granite or porcelain stoneware in flexible tile adhesive. Alternatively, they can be used in floor levelling compounds.
Of course, installation under adhesive floor coverings such as vinyl, parquet or herringbone laminate is also possible. To do this, the heating films are simply fixed to the substrate using floor covering adhesive and then the respective floor covering is glued on top. Another option is installation on the wall or ceiling, provided that the heating film is integrated directly and over the entire surface using a suitable system structure.
Important: This variant is not intended for applications in which the heating film is to be covered with a thin layer of fine or textured plaster or embedded behind wallpaper with a smooth filler. Due to the lack of perforation, the thin layer of material would probably not achieve sufficient adhesion, as the direct mechanical bond to the substrate would be significantly weaker. For this application, we therefore recommend our perforated heating fleece, as the perforation enables a significantly better bond in the plaster/filler structure.
The heating films consist of two copper strips that supply an electrically conductive carbon coating on a carrier material. As soon as a voltage (either direct or alternating current) is applied to the copper strips of the heating films, the carbon material heats up and emits long-wave infrared radiation with an IR wavelength of 7-14 micrometres (IR-C radiation). This heats almost the entire surface of the heating films extremely evenly, ensuring homogeneous heat distribution. Compared to other electric heating systems, the energy used is converted into heat without significant losses, making the heating films very efficient.
Our range of fleece-laminated Mi-Heat low-voltage heating films (without perforation) covers various voltages between 36 and 48 volts (AC/DC) and heating outputs of 130–230 W/m² (+/- 10%).

Note: For a complete heating solution, a suitable power source (e.g. transformer or battery/rechargeable battery) and a suitable thermostat with external temperature sensor are also required. The thermostat monitors the heating film thermally and also ensures that the temperature is limited.
